Events & Site Assistant

The Woodstock Farm Festival is a nonprofit organization that runs a seasonal farmer’s market in the Town of Woodstock. The 2024 season runs from May 15th - October 9th, rain or shine. The market is open 3 PM - dusk (7 PM for most of the season).

Candidates for this position must be available every Wednesday during the above period, willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions, and able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds. 

The hours for this position are Wednesdays, approximately 1:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in community building and local food systems and can work independently as well as interdependently with a team of volunteers, vendors, and staff members. 

While this position focuses on executing site and programming needs at the market, we are excited to collaborate should the Site & Events Manager have ideas regarding current programming or additional events.

Responsibilities

(To be completed with the guidance of the Market Manager and Site Manager)

  • Help set up and break down signage, tents, and tables before and after each market

  • Coordinate vendor parking and vendor setup, ensuring correct placement

  • Assist Site Manager and customers with disbursement and recording of SNAP funds and merch sales

  • Assist with execution of market events, including children’s activities

  • Help oversee and implement our new composting program

  • Work with vendors and assist customers and other community members with market-related matters

  • Enforce market rules and safety
